About Our Admissions Process

Imbokodo Academy of Excellence is a registered private TVET College offering inclusive education for all learners. We welcome students without matric, people with disabilities, and those seeking to advance their skills through accredited qualifications.


 

Required Documents

Please prepare the following documents for submission after completing the online application

Mandatory Documents (All Applicants)

  • Certified copy of South African ID or Birth Certificate
  • Recent proof of residence (not older than 3 months) – Utility bill, bank statement, or affidavit
  • Completed application form (online submission)

Academic Documents (If Applicable)

  • Certified copy of highest academic qualification (Matric Certificate, Senior Certificate, or highest grade passed)
  • Academic transcript or school report (latest available)
  • For ARPL applicants: Proof of work experience and trade test certificates (if available)

Additional Documents

  • Affidavit from traditional leader or ward councillor (if no proof of residence available)
  • Medical certificate or assessment report (for applicants with disabilities or special needs)
  • Study permit and passport (for international students)
  • Important: All documents must be certified by a South African Police Service officer, Commissioner of Oaths, or lawyer. Original documents will be required for verification during registration.

Application Process & Timeline

1. Complete Online Application

Fill out our comprehensive 6-step application form, including your:

  • Personal details

  • Educational background

  • Programme preferences

Estimated time: 15–20 minutes


2. Submit Required Documents

Once your online application is submitted, you’ll receive an email with document submission instructions. You can choose one of the following methods:

Timeline: Within 5 working days of online submission


3. Application Review

Our admissions committee will assess your eligibility based on:

  • Programme requirements

  • Academic and/or work background

Timeline: 5–7 working days after document submission


4. Interview & Assessment (If Required)

For certain programmes, an interview, placement test, or practical assessment may be needed.
We’ll contact you to schedule at your convenience — interviews can be conducted online or on-site.

Timeline: Within 2 weeks of application review


5. Admission Decision

You’ll receive your official admission decision via email and SMS.
If accepted, we’ll send a Letter of Acceptance with:

  • Registration instructions

  • Fee information

Timeline: 3–5 working days after interview/assessment


6. Registration & Enrollment

To complete your registration, you’ll need to:

  • Submit original documents

  • Sign the Student Agreement

  • Pay the registration fee

You’ll then receive your student number and access to our learning management system (LMS).

Important Information

Application Fee

A non-refundable application processing fee of R250 is payable upon submission of documents. Payment details will be provided in your confirmation email.

Programme Intakes

We offer multiple intakes throughout the year (February, May, August, and October for most programmes). Your preferred start date will be discussed during the admissions process.

You can check your application status by contacting our admissions office. Keep your application reference number (provided after online submission) for all correspondence.
